The English Studies Department offers a concentrations in creative writing, professional writing, and general writing. English majors in the Writing program may not minor in Literature and Language. The following courses are designated capstone experiences: 06-380 The ePortfolio Seminar and 06-460 Senior Seminar in English Studies.

III. ePortfolio
In consultation with their advisors in the English Studies Department, majors must submit for review an ePortfolio of writing. The ePortfolio represents assignments and projects completed in courses. Students should register for
06-380 ePortfolio Seminar during the final semester before graduation; i.e., the semester in which they plan to graduate. Further information can be obtained from the advisor and department chair.
IV. The General Education advanced writing requirement is fulfilled in the Writing Concentration by the completion of 06-310 Advanced Writing.
V. Internship Opportunity
Students in the Writing Concentration are strongly encouraged to enroll in an Internship during their final year of study. Further information can be obtained from the Advisor or Department Chair.
