The Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism prepares skilled, knowledgeable, and ethical communication professionals for 21st century careers.
The Journalism major is for students interested in careers in print, broadcast, or online journalism. Students take courses in journalistic writing, editing, publication and web page design, social and mobile media, and the use of broadcast and computer equipment and software. Students also work with Campus Media including the print and Online Lewis Flyer, WLRA radio, and LUTN news/television.
Majors in Journalism may not double-major in another Communication Department major unless they complete a separate set of 4 upper-division Communication courses (12 hours) in the second major. Minors in Journalism are also available.
