Certificate of Advanced Study Degree
The Certificate of Advanced Study Degree at Lewis University offers teachers who already possess a master’s level degree the opportunity for advanced coursework. The course sequence offers a comprehensive theoretical and practical program that also leads to a Principal Endorsement.
Transfer Credit
Credits accepted for transfer into the Certificate of Advanced Study Degree Program must be hours beyond the master’s degree except for the reading courses which can be accepted at the master's level.

Prerequisites
- Master’s level degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Professional Educator License with Teacher Endorsement
- Four years of teaching experience.
- Fulfillment of Survey of Exceptional Child requirement (105 ILCS 5/21-2a).
- Submission of Advanced Writing Sample.
- Successful completion of the Illinois Basic Skills Test, Test of Academic Proficiency or ACT with composite score of 22.
Course of study: 35 credit hours.
