Curriculum and Instruction: Designing Environments for Contemporary Classrooms

The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Designing Environments for Contemporary Classrooms, is designed for in-service educators who wish to bring additional value to their teaching through the convenience of an online environment. This degree will allow the practicing teacher to focus on factors that influence learning in today’s classroom and to create curriculum and instruction to meet the needs of diverse student populations.

Aligning itself to the Lewis University College of Education Standards, the program develops critical, knowledgeable, and transformative educators who are prepared to create multicultural classrooms and advocate for social justice. Upon completion of this program, educators will understand the needs of today’s learners, will be aware of the contemporary factors that influence learning, and will possess effective leadership skills to positively impact learners and the school community.

The program allows candidates to select an area of curricular specialization by focusing on elective coursework in reading, English language learning, or special education.
