Elementary Education / Master of Arts
This is an evening program for working adults who wish to obtain elementary licensure and earn a Master of Arts degree. This program is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge, skills and dispositions needed to be successful classroom teachers. Candidates may choose to only complete the coursework and clinical hours needed for elementary licensure, or they may continue their studies and earn a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Candidates seeking a Master of Arts degree must complete a comprehensive examination. Although all coursework is offered during evenings, the field experiences and clinical practice requirements must be met during normal school hours.
All candidates must meet the requirements for full admission status listed in the College of Education introduction.

This program satisfies all requirements for those individuals holding a Type 29 Temporary Bilingual Endorsement to earn Elementary Licensure with ESL Endorsement. One additional course (
51-527) Methods and Materials for Teaching Bilingual Education and passing the state language proficiency exam are required for Bilingual Endorsement.
