This course serves as the capstone learning experience for the degree program. Students explore the roles and tasks of the construction manager through case studies and small group work. The culminating project for the course will involve methods to coordinate people, equipment, materials, money, and schedule to complete a construction project on time and within the approved budget.

Capstone course to be completed as the student's final foundation and major course.
This course includesinstruction and practice in estimating construction project costs: direct and indirect costs, labor, materials, and equipment along with accounting for overhead and profit. Conceptual estimating methods, cost variance analysis, depreciation, variable costs, and funding sources and arrangements are also addressed. Students will analyze a contractor's ability to bid, bond, and perform a construction project and how to effectively identify and deal with cost overruns.
