Foreign Language Program
Students with prior exposure to the target language, be it at school or at home, are not permitted to enroll in the first-semester classes. Such students should request the permission of the Program Director in person to enroll in second-semester classes to ensure that they are registering for an appropriate level of instruction.
See course offerings in the online Course Schedule for the appropriate (Fall or Spring) semester. The courses offered, based on student demand, include those listed below. Courses listed below are not necessarily offered every semester.
Students who are already fluent in Spanish or Polish are placed in Heritage courses. These students may not take oral/aural courses intended for first- and second-year language students. Heritage courses emphasize advanced reading, interpretation of texts, writing, and oral communication skills in the target language. Spanish Heritage courses may be taken in any sequence.
