02-355 Molecular Biochemistry with Clinical Correlates

The role of proteins and their molecular precursors, the nucleic acids, is the focus of this course in Biochemistry. As such, students will advance basic understanding of transcription and translation achieved from 02-220 Genetics using clinically relevant models. Drawing from this knowledge base, students will apply their understanding of protein structure/function in an in depth analysis of enzyme biochemistry as well as cell signaling mechanisms. Terminology is utilized from both Organic Chemistry and the Biological sciences.
