A language maintenance and development course intended for bilingual students who grew up in a Spanish-speaking home and speak or understand the language to some extent, but have not had prior instruction in the Spanish language and want to improve their language skills through formal study. The course focuses on vocabulary development, literacy skills, grammar, reading and writing, and it includes consideration of the relationship between language and culture.
