17-200 College Physics I

This course offers a study of the fundamental laws of mechanics, heat and sound.

13-120 or three years of high school mathematics or equivalent.

17-201 College Physics I Lab

One laboratory period per week must be taken concurrently with 17-200.

This course is a study of electricity, magnetism and light.

17-210 General Physics I

This calculus-based physics course for science, engineering and math majors introduces the fundamental laws of mechanics, heat and sound.

17-211 General Physics I Lab

One laboratory period per week must be taken concurrently with 17-210.

17-215 General Physics II

The second course in the calculus-based sequence for science, engineering and math majors introduces the fundamental laws of electricity, magnetism and light. Prerequisite: 17-210 and 13-201 taken concurrently.

17-216 General Physics II Lab

One laboratory period per week must be taken concurrently with 17-215.

17-219 General Physics III Lab

17-220 Electronic Circuits

Basic D.C. and A.C. circuit theory is reviewed, including semiconductor electronic devices and theory and application of these devices as linear circuit elements in power supplies, amplifiers, communication circuits and control circuits. The emphasis is on experimental techniques.

17-225 Digital Electronics

Students explore electronic instruments and techniques used in research, in science and in digital computers. Theory and experiments emphasizing the use and design of digital circuits are examined as well.

17-255 Foundations of Aerospace Engineering (IIT)

The Illinois Institute of Technology foundation course which provides exploration of a special topic necessary for further study of aerospace engineering is MMAE 202 Mechanics of Solids II (3).

17-256 Foundations of Mechanical Engineering (IIT)

The Illinois Institute of Technology 200-level courses provide a foundation for later courses in mechanical engineering.  Courses include: MS 201 Materials Science (3), MMAE 202 Mechanics of Solids II, and MMAE 232 Design for Innovation (3).
